Watch Band Size Guide: Garmin QuickFit, Apple Watch, Fitbit and More

Silicone, nylon and metal watch bands laid out next to a smartwatch

Quick answer: watch bands fit by one of two systems. Standard and Garmin QuickFit watches use a lug width in millimeters (for example 22 mm). Apple Watch, Fitbit and WHOOP use a model-specific connector, so you match the device model and case size instead.

Garmin QuickFit: 20, 22 or 26 mm

QuickFit bands click into the watch without tools and come in three widths. As a rule of thumb, smaller "S" models such as the fēnix 7S use 20 mm, standard-size models such as the fēnix 7 and many Forerunner and Instinct watches use 22 mm, and the largest "X" models such as the fēnix 7X use 26 mm. Check your watch's specifications for the exact width, since it varies by model and size.

Apple Watch: two size groups

Apple Watch bands are made for a case-size group rather than one exact case. Bands for the smaller cases (38, 40 and 41 mm, plus the 42 mm Series 10) are interchangeable with each other, and bands for the larger cases (42 mm on older models, 44, 45, 46 and 49 mm) are interchangeable with each other. Check your case size on the back of the watch or in the Watch app before ordering.

Fitbit: bands are shared within families

Fitbit bands use a proprietary latch. Charge 5 and Charge 6 bands are interchangeable, Versa 3, Versa 4, Sense and Sense 2 share a band design, and Inspire models use their own bands. Match the family named in the listing.

WHOOP and smart rings

WHOOP bands are made for specific hardware generations, so check whether a listing names your device (for example WHOOP 5.0 or MG). Smart ring accessories such as covers and chargers are sized by ring generation and ring size. Shop WHOOP bands, Oura Ring covers and Oura Ring chargers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure lug width?

Measure the gap between the two lugs where the band attaches, in millimeters. Most watches use an even number such as 18, 20, 22 or 24 mm.

Will a 22 mm band fit any 22 mm watch?

A standard spring-bar band fits most 22 mm watches. Garmin QuickFit bands need a QuickFit-compatible watch, and curved-end bands are shaped for specific cases.

What if the band does not fit?

Compare the model in the listing with your watch first. You can start a return within 30 days of purchase, and returns for a defective, damaged or wrong item are free.
