When reporting daily, the battery can power tracking for 12–18 months between charges, while you can also choose higher frequencies when moving, down to every 15 minutes. It uses 4G LTE with a fallback to 2G to maintain a reliable connection, and it blends GPS with Wi-Fi based location for indoor areas where satellite signals are weak.

Global connectivity and precision

Trak-4 Solar operates worldwide, leveraging LTE with a robust fallback to 2G. It supports multiple GNSS systems including GPS and GLONASS for accurate positioning. When GPS is less reliable, it can detect nearby Wi-Fi routers’ MAC IDs and reference Google’s Wi-Fi database for indoor tracking accuracy. A subscription is required, with plans starting at 9.99 per month when billed annually or 16.99 per month for flexible month-to-month plans.

Designed for all-weather use, Trak-4 Solar is waterproof and built to last. It measures 4.6 by 2.3 by 1.3 inches and houses a high-capacity battery plus all necessary accessories. While in direct sun it will trickle charge and continue reporting even when sunlight is scarce, making it ideal for extended tracking. The optional Trak-4 Mag Kit offers high-strength magnets to attach the unit to steel surfaces.
