Experience true-to-life detail in stills and video

Prepare to be inspired. The Sony Alpha 7 IV blends a 33MP Exmor R full-frame sensor with intelligent autofocus for versatile performance across photography and cinema-quality video. The back-illuminated design helps preserve detail and tonal nuance in a variety of lighting situations.

Inside, the camera benefits from the next-generation BIONZ XR processing engine, delivering up to eight times the power for faster AF calculations, smoother subject tracking, and more responsive handling in busy scenes.

Imaging and video capabilities

Capture stunning stills with 33MP resolution and broad dynamic range, then translate that detail into large prints or flexible crops. For video, shoot up to 4K at 60p with 10-bit 4:2:2 and full pixel readout to retain color fidelity and sharpness across formats.

  • Real-time Eye AF for humans, animals and birds in both photo and video modes
  • Full-frame sensor and advanced processing for natural skin tones and textures
  • Focus Map and Breathing Compensation to help frame and maintain consistency
  • S-Cinetone, S-Log3 and HLG provide flexible color pipelines for creative workflows
