Why customers choose Nexoltic
Whether you need a portable hub for a hot desk, a compact workstation for home, or a travel-ready dongle for presentations, this HODO adapter consolidates multiple connections into one USB-C cable. It supports two HDMI outputs, a high-speed DisplayPort, and a VGA port, together with USB-A/USB-C data ports and a 100W Power Delivery passthrough. Because display performance depends on your laptop’s USB-C implementation and DP support, resolutions and multi-monitor modes vary by device.
How many monitors can I run and at what resolutions?
You can connect up to four displays simultaneously: two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, and one VGA. Maximum single-display performance reaches up to 8K@30Hz or 4K@144Hz on supported hosts; dual and triple setups can run 4K when the laptop outputs DP1.4 with DSC. Quad-mode falls back to 1080p@60Hz across connected monitors, and if VGA is used it limits all outputs to 1080p.
- Single display: up to 8K@30Hz or 4K@144Hz (host dependent)
- Dual/triple displays: up to 4K on DP1.4 DSC-capable laptops
- Quad displays or VGA connected: 1080p@60Hz per screen
- MacOS note: external screens mirror each other, not extend
Will this hub keep my laptop charged while I work?
The dock includes a USB-C PD passthrough that accepts up to 100W input and safely supplies up to 87W to your laptop, enabling heavy-duty charging during use. To ensure stable charging, use a PD-capable charger of at least 65W (not included) and verify your laptop’s USB-C port supports Power Delivery.
- Supports up to 100W input and 87W safe output
- Requires a PD-capable power adapter (sold separately)
- Check laptop USB-C PD support before use
What data and USB accessories can I attach?
HODO’s hub provides a 5 Gbps USB 3.0 port plus two USB 2.0 ports and one USB-C data port. This combination handles fast file transfers, external storage, and peripherals such as keyboards, mice, or printers without introducing lag for basic peripherals.
- 1× USB 3.0 for up to 5 Gbps transfers (external drives, flash keys)
- 2× USB 2.0 for keyboards, mice, and low-speed accessories
- 1× USB-C data port (480 Mbps) for compatible devices
Which laptops and operating systems are compatible?
The docking station targets laptops with full-featured USB-C ports that support DisplayPort alt mode and PD, like many Dell XPS, Latitude, Lenovo ThinkPad/Yoga, HP EliteBook/Envy, Surface Pro models, and MacBook Pro/Air. Display behavior on macOS is limited to mirrored outputs; Windows machines with DP1.4 and DSC deliver the best multi-display performance.
- Works best with full-featured USB-C (Display, PD, data)
- Windows laptops with DP1.4 DSC enable higher-resolution multi-monitor setups
- macOS: external monitors mirror instead of extending
Who is this for? The HODO 9-in-1 USB-C Docking Station fits users who need a space-saving hub to connect multiple monitors, external drives, and peripherals while keeping a laptop charged. It’s ideal for knowledge workers, designers who need multiple displays (when laptop supports DP1.4), presenters who require quick AV connections on the move, and anyone upgrading a thin laptop for fuller desktop functionality without carrying bulky docks. Check your laptop’s USB-C feature set before purchase to ensure the hub meets your display and charging needs.
FAQ
Q: Does the HODO dock charge my laptop while connected?
A: Yes — it supports PD input up to 100W and safely provides up to 87W to your laptop; use a PD charger (65W+ recommended).
Q: Can I run three independent 4K monitors?
A: Potentially — triple 4K output requires a laptop with DP1.4 and DSC support; otherwise resolutions may be lower.
