Overview

The autoabc Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Modification Module brings modern smartphone connectivity to the VW Touareg RNS850, covering 2011 through 2018 models with an 8‑inch display. This upgrade adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto without changing the car's core electronics, letting you access maps, contacts, messages, music, and more with ease.

Why this upgrade matters

In daily drives, the clear interface on the original screen becomes a hub for navigation, playlists, and hands‑free communication. The module maintains your vehicle’s safety systems and sensors while expanding your connectivity, providing a seamless and familiar user experience on the road.

What you gain

  • Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for maps, contacts, calls, messages, and music
  • OEM functions stay intact: the vehicle control unit software remains unchanged, and original cameras or parking aids continue to work
  • Mirror projection lets you view phone apps and content on the dash display (DRM limits may apply to some streaming services)
  • Rear view, parking radar, and 360° camera support enhance parking awareness and safety
  • LVDS compatibility note: if screen flicker occurs in some vehicles, use the LVDS OUT port to resolve it

Real world use cases

Imagine a morning commute where navigation prompts guide you while you stream your favorite playlists, all without touching your phone. On road trips, you can check traffic in real time, mirror maps for easier viewing, and use voice commands to keep your hands on the wheel. The upgrade preserves the cabin’s clean look while delivering a more connected driving experience.

Setup, compatibility, and support

The module is designed for a safe, non invasive upgrade with no changes to the vehicle control unit software. It is backed by a one‑year global warranty and lifetime technical support, with help available via Amazon messaging for reliable assistance.

Notes on compatibility

Compatibility check is recommended before purchasing. This product fits VW Touareg models equipped with the RNS850 8‑inch display from 2011 to 2018 and does not support 6‑inch screens. It also supports OEM rear view camera, parking radar, and 360°/front cameras where available.
